Artist’s Biography:
Beverley was born in Zimbabwe and first studied with Dulcie Wessiek and Peter Birch, the founders of the Salisbury School of Art.
In the mid 60's beverley came to London to continue his studies, at first working as a draughtsman, but for the last few decades he has been painting full time.
Beverley's style derives much from his experiences of his native Africa and he returns there once a year to renew his inspiration. Influenced by the art forms of the people of this most beautiful country, the artist reflects this in his idiomatic use of an earthy palette, expansive composition and unrefined texture.
Alongside his many commissioned works, Beverley's output has enabled him to mount several one man shows in London, as well as exhibitions in California and France. His work is now in collections around the world.
Year of Birth: 1949
Institutional Collection: British American Tobacco
Artist’s Statement:
Contemporary paintings using unrefined texture and an expansive palette in both abstract and figurative compositions.
