Artist’s Biography:

Ensemble Robot is an organization of artists, engineers, programmers, and musicians, working to: (1) design, construct, and program an orchestra of robotic musical instruments and dancers, (2) commission music compositions and dance choreography.

The primary goal of Ensemble Robot is the creation of new, visually and sonically attractive, robotic instruments and music.

Since founded in 2003 by Leila Hasan and Christine Southworth, Ensemble Robot has performed at Brown University, the Boston Museum of Science, Boston University, the Boston Cyberarts Festival, Wired Magazine's Nextfest in New York, the Cambridge Science Festival, and Mass MoCA, commissioned new works from nine composers and one choreographer, and built five robotic musical instruments.
