Artist’s Statement:

Born in 1960 Trudy has always maintained a passion for art. She graduated from St Martins London with a Fine Art Degree in 1981 and went on to work as a designer in the UK and internationally for twenty years. Only occasionally exhibiting but continually producing commissioned artwork for clients. Trudy moved to Cornwall five years ago, originally to study for an MA in 20thC Art & Design Histories & Theories but subsequently realised her life's ambition............... to work solely as an artist.

Embarking on this journey through the discourse of abstraction and selectively sifting a lifetime of memories. Trudy communicates with the viewer via her unique style and narrative. With an inherently professional designers eye for the use of colour and form, Trudy integrates visual elements with scratched writing, type-forms, poetry and found objects, creating emotional overtones amongst the layers and texture.

One woman's tempestuous pathway through a life of turmoil, triumph, pain, loss, laughter and love.
