Artist's Biography: I was fortunate to be born into a family of artists. My father Charles Stephen DuBois,a sculpture, my great uncle Guy Pene DuBois,a painter and my mother Josephine Shaw a fashion designer. They encouraged and instructed me from the very first time I picked up a pencil. My formal education started with a Manhatten, NY specialty art high school, Here I learned technique and discipline. From there I went to Pratt in Brooklyn, NY where my knowledge was broadened considerably.

In the study of Human Anatomy my observational skills were honed. I also started on my path to a realization of my own voice. My father use to say that in order to live the life of an artist one must have the heart of a gypsy and nerves of steel. This is the unique quality that an artist is able to bring to their work. Time has proved him to be correct but it's the only life for me.
