Initial Access will present the fifth exhibition of new art from the Frank Cohen Collection, and will present a selection of recent works in neon and fluorescent light.

The artists in Lightness of Being work across media to highlight the unique potential that charged particles in light have when manipulated by the creative mind. For hundreds of years painters have studied the play of light on surrounding objects. The history of art clearly shows artist's exploration away from the representation of nature into abstraction and, subsequently, a response to popular culture exemplified by Pop Art.

Neon sculptures employ a technology originally developed for commercial signage which has extended the possibilities for artists to employ artificial light as an essential expressive element in their work.
