Artist Name: Armen Eloyan
Dates: 12 March – 11 April 2008
Medium: Oil

Exhibition Description:

Armen Eloyan is noted for his large-scale, heavily impastoed, brutally energetic paintings that combine caustic humour with the portrayal of a dark interior world peopled by an unruly set of animals and cartoon characters. Artforum described them as ‘a battlefield straight out of Goya’, violence and danger seem to lurk just beneath the surface.

Description:

Eloyan was born in Armenia in 1966. He lives and works in Zurich and studied at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. His work is held in public and private collections in Europe and North America.
