Exhibition Description:

MENLIBAYEVA uses a 'Romantic Punk Shamanism' to represent a balanced harmony between Islamic culture's tradition of belonging and contemporary art. Her poetic language can touch the souls of those who are disillusioned with contemporary consumerist culture and expose them to a transcendental reality.

Education and Training:

Born 1969 in Kazakhstan, 1987 – 1992 Art and Theatre University of Kazakhstan, Almaty. Lives and works in Berlin and Amsterdam
