Exhibition Title: Live Forever

Artist Name: Elizabeth Peyton
Dates: October 8, 2008-January 11, 2009
Website: http://newmuseum.org

Exhibition Description:

This is Elizabeth Peyton's first survey, which premiers at the New Museum and then travels to the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis; Whitechapel Art Gallery in London; and the Bonnefantenmuseum, in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

It will include more than 100 paintings, drawings, and prints, a retrospective of Peyton's work over the past fifteen years. Like a novel, Peyton's oeuvre can be read in chapters featuring portraits of friends, family, personal heroes, and fleeting passions.

While the exhibition will offer a visual biography of the artist, it will at the same time create a snapshot of the past decade's popular culture. The exhibition is curated by Laura Hoptman, the Kraus Family's Senior Curator.
